Taylor Swift ME! featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco review

Me! (stylized in all caps) is a song by singer-songwriter Taylor Swift featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco, that was released on April 26, 2019, through Republic Records. It serves as the lead single to Swift's upcoming seventh studio album.

On April 13th, the singer unveiled a countdown to midnight on April 26th appeared on Swift's website.

On April 25, Swift was interviewed by Robin Roberts during the NFL Draft and confirmed the song's title, the feature with Brendon Urie and that music video will be released along with the song at midnight.

Me! is a bubblegum pop song that talks about embracing your individuality and really owning it.

Swift opens up the song with,

I promise that you'll never find another like me

Before singing on the first verse,

I know that I'm a handful baby, uh
I know I never think before I jump
And you're the kind of guy the ladies want
(And there's a lot of cool chicks out there)

Then, she see herself like the colors of a rainbow with the lyrics,

But one of these things is not like the others
Like a rainbow with all of the colors
Baby doll when it comes to a lover
I promise that you'll never find another like

Before going into the catchy chorus with,

Me, ooh
I'm the only one of me
Baby that's the fun of me
Me, ooh
You're the only one of you
Baby that's the fun of you
And I promise that nobody's gonna love you like me

Brendon exchanges his verse singing,

I know I tend to make it about me
I know you never get just what you see
But I will never bore you baby
(And there's a lot of lame guys out there)

And when we had that fight out in the rain
You ran after me and called my name
I never want to see you walk away
(And there's a lot of lame guys out there)

Afterwards Swift and Urie tries to school the listeners with a little bit of spelling saying,

Hey kids
Spelling is fun

Girl there ain't no "I" in team
But you know there is a "Me"
Strike the band up 1, 2, 3
I promise that you'll never find another like me

Girl there ain't no "I" in team
But you know there is a "Me"
And you can't spell awesome without me

I don't care what anybody has to say about Taylor Swift's new song ME! In my opinion, I absolutely this song and the powerful message that's behind it. The music video is also very fun and filled with lots of colors.

Demi Lovato Simply Complicated review

Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated is a 2017 documentary film about the life and career of singer, songwriter and actress Demi Lovato, that was released on October 17, 2017 through YouTube Originals, in support of her sixth album Tell Me You Love Me.

The film begins with the recording of Tell Me You Love Me along with events in Demi's life and career that she hasn't previously discussed. Like the beginning of her career on Disney Channel or dealing with various personal struggles such as bipolar disorder and addiction.

Here is the official trailer for the doc if you're interested:

You will also get a chance to see never-before-seen videos of the singer when she was a little girl. Plus, exclusive appearances from Demi's family and friends.

I watched Simply Complicated on my tablet three months ago and I was completely blown away by how raw, honest and personal Demi got when talking about her ups and downs in her life. From the time when she was a child star on Barney & Friends to where she was at now in the year 2017.

She also covered on so many different topics like her sexuality, an eating disorder, drug and alcohol addiction, and etc.

When you watch Simply Complicated from beginning to end, you're going to find yourself smiling, laughing, gasping and also crying.

Fun Fact: Demi is working on some new scenes for the sequel of her 2017 documentary titled More Complicated.

I can't wait for her to release More Complicated when it's time. Until then, you can watch Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated on YouTube right here:

FKA Twigs Cellophane review

Cellophane is a song by English singer FKA twigs that was released on April 24, 2019, through Young Turks. It serves as a promotional single for twigs' upcoming studio album, LP2.

This track is the first release from the singer in three years since her 2016 song Good To Love.

Lyrically, the word cellophane, a common packaging material, is being used as a metaphor to paint a picture of a tainted love.

Here's what twigs had to say about the background story for this song via Instagram:

when I wrote cellophane over a year ago a visual narrative came to me immediately, I knew I had to learn how to pole-dance to bring it to life, and so that’s what I did. thank you
@Andrew_T_Huang, for elevating my vision beyond words. you are a visionary.

Over the piano, she sings on the first verse,

Didn't I do it for you?
Why don’t I do it for you?
Why won't you do it for me
When all I do is for you?

Then, twigs moves on to the pre-chorus with,

They want to see us, want to see us alone
They want to see us, want to see us apart
They want to see us, want to see us alone
They want to see us, want to see us apart

Before going into the chorus with the lyrics,

And I, just want to feel you're there
And I don't want to have to share our love
I try but I get overwhelmed
All wrapped in cellophane, the feelings that we had

Alongside the release of her song, she unveiled the music video for Cellophane on the same day. The video was directed by Andre Thomas Huang.

In the video, twigs can be seen walking in metallic heels, before taking center stage and showing off her pole-dancing skills.

Overall, I love the song and the video for Cellophane by FKA twigs. This single is considered as her comeback to the music scene. I absolutely can't wait to hear more from me and the release of  LP2.

Cait Fairbanks When I See You review

When I See You is a single by Cait Fairbanks that was released on April 17, 2019, through CatBeach Music. The track was written by Fairbanks, Daena Wienand and Robert Hartry.

Lyrically, When I See You is a guitar-driven song that talks about the singer unleashing her sensual side with her lover.

On the first verse, she sings,

It's like I woke up
Out of body
 In your bed

Trace the shadow
Dancing on your skin
Slowly rising
Coming into view

She continues on the chorus with,

Oh, it all
It all made sense when I see you
And it all
it all made sense when I see you

Inside of me
Oh, the edge of disbelief
This feeling that you give to me
 How I feel so safe
I don't wanna to break the silence of a sweet escape
The peaceful looks upon your face
Oh, it's everything

I love how Cait's guitar fits the theme of this song. The lyrics are so relatable and, in my opinion, this is the perfect love song for anyone who is in love with the special someone in your life.

I definitely recommend that you give this song a listen for yourself. If you don't, then you're going to regret it.

SZA, The Weeknd & Travis Scott Power Is Power review

Power Is Power is the third single from the Game of Thrones album For The Throne that was released on April 18, 2019. The track features R&B singer SZA and rappers The Weeknd and Travis Scott.

Lyrically, the title is a reference to a scene that took place in the first episode of the show's second season. It starts off with Littlefinger telling Cersei Lannister "Knowledge is power", which she responds to him with the saying "Power is power".

The Weeknd opens up the song by making a reference to the Game of Thrones character Jon Snow with the lyrics,

I was born of the ice and snow
With the winter wolves, in the dark, alone
The wildest night, I became the one
And you'll know you're mine when the silence calls

Heavy is the crown only for the weak

Then, he continues on to the chorus with,

A knife in my heart couldn't slow me down
'Cause power is power, the fire never goes out
I rise from my scars, nothing hurts me now
'Cause power is power
Now watch me burn it down

Afterwards, SZA exchanges her own verse singing,

I went down for the coldest one
And I know I'll win 'cause I played before, yeah
I don't know with whatever you say
I don't know if we need it your way
You wouldn't take my place
Put me away, I die lookin' up at your face
How do I ever know? Who can I trust?
Feelings of emptiness
Only love could kill me, God bless

Before her and The Weeknd come together and sing on the chorus with the lyrics,

A knife in my heart
Couldn't slow me down (Couldn't slow me down)
'Cause power is power ('Cause power is power)
The fire never goes out
I rise from my scars
Nothing hurts me now (Nothing hurts me now)
'Cause power is power ('Cause power is power)
Now watch me burn it down

There is also a possible reference to the motto of House Stark of Winterfell, one of the Westeros' main families on the show by Travis Scott.

On the third verse, he sings,

Hit as well, it's way colder, by the day, we count it down
Been around, just been waitin' up, she gon' come around
I took a drag, bust it out the gate, smile lil baby, slay
I wore a flag, put that on my face, ain't nobody safe
Lift the mask, they gon' have to see what they can't erase

SZA ends the pre-chorus with this saying,

Heavy is the crown, but never for a queen (Oh yeah)

Here is my take on Power Is Power. This song was surprisingly good when I first listened to it on Spotify. I love that the theme centers around the characters' perspective from each artist.

The Weeknd singing about Jon Show's point of view growing up with the winter wolves, SZA singing from Cersei's perspective and Travis ending the track with his take on the role of the Night King.

If you have been a fan of Game of Thrones for about eight years now, then you definitely check out the final season of the show. But, if you haven't watched the show from the beginning, then I suggest that you binge-watch every season of Game of Thrones.

That's if your eyes can handle watching all of those episode within so many hours at a time. So, if you miss out on Game of Thrones, then it's on you.

Anyways, don't miss the final episodes of Game of Thrones on Sunday at 9pm on HBO.

Ariana Grande: 1 Year of No Tears Left To Cry

On April 20, 2018, Ariana Grande released her comeback single No Tears Left To Cry from her then upcoming fourth studio album, which was later revealed to be Sweetener.

This song has helped Grande get come back into the music again especially after the rough year that she had in 2017 with the Manchester bombing for her Dangerous Woman Tour.

Then, Ariana went back to Manchester and held a benefit concert titled One Love Manchester for the victims and the lives that was gone too soon from that fateful night at her concert.

Once the Dangerous Woman tour has wrapped up, Grande decided not to record any new music. She instead wanted to spend more time with her family and friends after the emotional impact that the tour had on her. But after several months of silence on social media, Grande unveiled the cover art and snippets of her new single titled No Tears Left To Cry that would be released on April 20th.

And of course, the rest is history.

The song peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and make Grande the first artist to have the first singles from each of her albums reached the top ten.

The music video was released on the same day and has since received over 780 million views on YouTube.

You can watch the video for No Tears Left To Cry below:

Every time that I listen to No Tears Left To Cry, it gets to me because I feel like I can hear Ariana's personal story in this song and how she was able to live her best life after that. It is one of my favorite songs by her so far.

Kira Kosarin Off Brand album review

Off Brand is the debut album by singer and songwriter Kira Kosarin that was released on April 10, 2019, through AWAL.

You may know Kira as Phoebe Thunderman from Nickelodeon's The Thundermans, but she would prefer that you forget that she was a teenage star on a kid's TV show and just simply listen.

Off Brand is an R&B album mixed with hip-hop music. This is where Kira finally lets loose and ready to show the world a different side of her.

Crazy's Your Type talks about a guy who always keeps picking the wrong girl every time. She opens up the track with the lyrics,

I see you out with her
Looking like some déjà vu
You always pick the girl
That’s always gonna play with you

On the chorus, she continues to remind him of his choice in crazy girls singing,

Don’t you act surprised
This happens to you every time
Don’t come asking why
We all know that crazy’s your type

Lyrically, 47 Hours is about an ex who is trying to win back Kira's heart, but she turns him down each chance that he gets.

On the pre-chorus, she sings,

Much, too much
Blame your insecurity
This isn’t gonna work for me
No, like no
I bet that you would disagree, ayy

Afterwards, she goes to the chorus with the lyrics,

Why you sending flowers?
It’s been 47 hours
It’s just too much
Much too soon
Don’t try to protect me
'Cause the pressure gets too heavy
It’s just too much
Much too soon
After 47 hours

Area Code finds Kira wanting to meet her love interest for the first time face to face as she sings,

So why you go askin for pics?
You know that you could come through
And be gettin your fix in person
But personally
I don’t think you live up to your name
I think you’re the best at runnin' games
Baby, won’t you say it to my face?

She continues on the chorus with,

Distance gives you confidence
But you can’t back up none of it
Showed up in your area code
And where did you go?
You can’t back it up
I came to your continent
What happened to your confidence?
Showed up in your area code
Now you can’t back it up
You can’t back it up

Click here to listen to Wandering Eyes

Wandering Eyes is about a guy that the singer sees as her guilt pleasure with the lyrics,

It's been two years since I fell into your arms
You picked me up with that perfect charm
You gave me everything that I ever wanted
So someone tell me why I'm still so haunted by him
And how he's built
Yes, you're my baby
But he's my guilty little pleasure and
I got no I reason I shouldn't wanna stay
But I can't help the things in my brain, so
Somebody tell me what's wrong with me and my

Kira continues on the chorus with,

My wandering eyes
Woah, woah
My wandering eyes
Woah, woah

Love Me Like You Hate Me is where the singer explores her sensual side with her man on the pre-chorus with.

Put your hands around my neck
And tell me what you dreamed about last night
Then do it right
'Cause I’m not lookin for forever, just tonight

She continues on the chorus with the lyrics,

Oh, don’t treat me like I’m fragile
I’m not a piece of glass, you’ll never break me if you tried, no
Don’t touch me like I’m fragile
You’ll only get me back if you can wake me up tonight
Know you don’t wanna make a wrong move
No, you don’t wanna lose me
I ain’t even mad if you bruise me
You ain’t even gotta say "Excuse me"
Don’t be scared, come pull my hair
Why you still standing there?

Click here to listen to Take This Outside

Take This Outside is a fun song tat lyrically talks about wanting to have a guy that you like all to yourself. On the chorus, Kira sings,

Meet me in the garden
Tell me if you’re about it
Forget all about the party and
Let’s get our own started
I’m over it inside, so let take this outside

Click here to listen to Poison

Poison is the final track on Off Brand. Kira talks about wanting to be a man no matter how toxic he is. She sings on the first verse,

You’re a bad decision that I wanna make
Oh, your chemicals, so incredible
Messin' up my vision, buzzin' in my brain
Unforgettable, might regret it, though

Then, the singer really turns up the heat with the lyrics,

You’re poison to the touch
I can’t get enough
I think I can take a little more
Venom in my blood
Dangerous and dumb
I just wanna take a sip of
Poison, poison

I just love Kira's album Off Brand. The lyrics, the production and the songs were all certified bops to me. The way that she makes R&B sound so good with her soulful voice is amazing.

Ariana Grande 7 Rings review

7 rings (stylized in all lowercase) is the second single from Ariana Grande fifth studio album, Thank U, Next. It was released on January 18, 2019, through Republic Records.

The song is described by the singer as a "friendship anthem" and that it was inspired by a trip to Tiffany's where Grande bought seven matching rings for her and her friends.

The track also includes an interpolation of My Favorite Things by Julie Andrews as Ariana sings,

Yeah, breakfast at Tiffany's and bottles of bubbles
Girls with tattoos who like getting in trouble
Lashes and diamonds, ATM machines
Buy myself all of my favorite things (Yeah)

Then on the pre-chorus, she boasts about money with the lyrics,

My wrist, stop watchin', my neck is flossy
Make big deposits, my gloss is poppin'
You like my hair? Gee, thanks, just bought it
I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it (Yeah)

She also uses another interpolation in 7 rings, but this time with a song titled Gimme The Loot by The Notorious B.I.G.

On the third verse, she raps,

Shoot, go from the store to the booth

Make it all back in one loop, gimme the loot

Never mind, I got the juice

Nothing but net when we shoot

Here is my take on 7 rings. I thought Grande did a good job in showing off her rapping skills for this single. I love the fact that she challenged herself into taking on hip-hop and trap music for the track. I also recommend that you watch the music video for 7 rings because it had been described as "colorful" and "super fun".
