Cait Fairbanks - Umbrella (Live Unplugged) review

Umbrella is a song by singer and songwriter Cait Fairbanks that was released on May 17, 2019 through RC Music. The track was written by Fairbanks herself along with RC Cates.

Lyrically, Umbrella is a folk song that finds the singer talking about wanting to make her lover happy again despite being in the midst of a storm.

She opens up on the first verse with,

Find your cup filled up with happiness again
Thank the clouds for cleansing rain
Find forgiveness in your heart so love remains
And find me there along the way

And Cait continues on the second verse singing,

Then our lives can shine so true
Where the shadows are just me and you
Though the sky may not always be blue
I’ll survive the storm if I’m with you

On the third verse, the singer is now encouraging her love interest to see the bright side of things with the lyrics,

Find the beauty in the moment come what may
Leave behind our darkest days
See the wonder in the chance that things could change
Take my hand I’ll lead the way

Before ending the song on the final verse with,

Then our lives will shine so bright
Where the shadows are just yours and mine
Though the sky may not always be blue
I’ll survive the storm if I’m with you
I’ll survive the storm if I’m with you
I’ll survive the storm right here with you

I am officially obsessed with Cait Fairbanks' music. I mean, her song Umbrella really showcases her vocals with the banjo playing in the background.

Halsey & Lido - Tokyo Narita (Freestyle) review

Tokyo Narita (Freestyle) is the collaboration between Halsey and Lido that was released on May 6, 2016. The pair had previously dated before, but now they remain as close friends.

The sounds of the aeroplane taking off heard at the beginning of the song, is in reference to the title "Tokyo Narita", which is also the name of the Japanese capital's international airport.

Halsey opens up the first verse with a nod to Kanye West singing,

So we laid down on the floor next to our brand new bed
Just so we could listen closer to this new Kanye West
But I can barely hear over the music in my head
All these 808s and heartbeats bangin' in your chest

On the next verse, she also mentions Canadian rapper Drake with the lyrics,

Told the driver "keep it goin'," he can run the meter
So we could finally hear Views on some decent speakers

The singer continues on the third verse talking about the Vogue party with,

Now we at the Vogue party and the whole thing's catered
So we said that we'd leave early, get some pizza later
But my hands go down your jeans and you distract the waiter
Until we take it somewhere better like the elevator

Then, Halsey comes in really hard on the last verse singing,

But these days I've dropped the keys to Anthony's Mercedes
We're standin' naked in the kitchen listenin' to Amy
And in those weeks you f***in' lost it cause you just wrote "Crazy"
And it seems like you never listen and I hate you lately

I love this song Tokyo Narita (Freestyle) by Halsey along the production and the lyrics for this track as well. The only thing that I would say about it is that I was the song itself was longer than two minutes and twenty six seconds because it's just, well, you're going to have to listen to it yourself to see what I am talking about.
