Billie Eilish everything i wanted review

Everything I Wanted (stylized in all lowercase) is a song by singer Billie Eilish that was released on November 14, 2019. It serves as the lead single from Billie's upcoming second studio album.

Lyrically, everything i wanted talks about a nightmare that Billie had where she had committed suicide and saw all of her friends and fans turn their backs on her.

She sings on the first verse:

I had a dream
I got everything I wanted
Not what you'd think
And if I'm being honest

It might have been a nightmare
To anyone who might care

Then, on the chorus, Billie showcases the strong relationship with her brother FINNEAS with the lyrics:

And you say "As long as I'm here
No one can hurt you
Don't wanna lie here
But you can learn to
If I could change the way that you see yourself
You wouldn't wonder why here
They don't deserve you"

Let me just say that I love Billie Eilish's new single. It's very good and catchy at the same time. The production, the lyrics and the meaning behind the song were right on point. I am very happy that Billie has blessed us with new music.

Selena Gomez Lose You to Love Me review

Lose You to Love Me is a song by singer Selena Gomez that was released October 23, 2019 through Interscope Records. It serves as the lead single from Gomez's upcoming third solo studio album.

Described as self love anthem, the singer is discovering her true self again while going through a difficult process of losing a lover.

The song is rumored to be about Selena's on and off again relationship with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber as she sings on the first verse:

Sang off-key in my chorus
'Cause it wasn't yours
I saw the signs and I ignored it
Rose-colored glasses all distorted
Set fire to my purpose
And I let it burn

Then, she makes mention of him again on the second verse with the lyrics:

In two months, you replaced us
Like it was easy
Made me think I deserved it
In the thick of healing, yeah

But, it's the chorus of this song where the singer really bares her soul singing:

To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me

I am so excited that Selena is back and better than ever with brand new music. I absolutely can't wait to listen to her next album.

But until then, you can buy, listen and stream Lose You to Love Me on Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play and more:

Taylor Swift Lover album review

Lover is the seventh studio album by singer and songwriter Taylor Swift that was released on August 23, 2019. The album marks as Swift's first release under Republic Records.

I Forgot That You Existed

I Forgot That You Existed lyrically talks about shrugging off a lot of things that have caused you struggle and pain as Swift opens up the first five lines with:

How many days did I spend thinking
'Bout how you did me wrong, wrong, wrong?
Lived in the shade you were throwing
'Til all of my sunshine was gone, gone, gone

And I couldn't get away from ya

Then, she name checks Drake's hit song "In My Feelings" with the lyrics:

In my feelings more than Drake, so yeah

Before moving into the pre-chorus and chorus singing:

But then something happened one magical night

I forgot that you existed
And I thought that it would kill me, but it didn't
And it was so nice
So peaceful and quiet
I forgot that you existed
It isn't love, it isn't hate, it's just indifference

 Cruel Summer

Cruel Summer tells the story about fragility of Swift's relationship with Joe Alywn. On the first verse, Taylor sings:

Fever dream high in the quiet of the night
You know that I caught it (Oh yeah, you're right, I want it)
Bad, bad boy, shiny toy with a price
You know that I bought it (Oh yeah, you're right, I want it)

Then she goes into the chorus with the lyrics:

It's a cruel summer
It's cool, that's what I tell 'em
No rules in breakable heaven
But ooh, whoa oh
It's a cruel summer
With you

Lover

Lover is described as a slow, romantic, and acoustic song that finds Taylor making a reference about her relationship with her boyfriend Joe in the lyrics.

On the first verse of the track, she sings:

We could leave the Christmas lights up 'til January
This is our place, we make the rules
And there's a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you, dear
Have I known you twenty seconds or twenty years?

Swift continues on the chorus with the lyrics:

Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
And ah, take me out and take me home
You're my, my, my, my
Lover

The second verse of Lover suggests that Taylor and Joe have been dating for three years now with her singing:

I've loved you three summers now, honey, but I want 'em all

Then, on the bridge, the singer is talking about marriage, which could be another reference to Joe as she sings:

Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand?
With every guitar string scar on my hand
I take this magnetic force of a man to be my
Lover

The Man

The Man is an empowering anthem that tackles on sexism. And it also plays on the perception of what it would be like if Taylor was the man as she sings on the chorus:

I'm so sick of running as fast as I can
Wondering if I'd get there quicker if I was a man
And I'm so sick of them coming at me again
'Cause if I was a man, then I'd be the man

The Archer

The Archer is mid-tempo song that finds Swift dealing with insecurities in a relationship. On the first verse, she sings:

Combat
I'm ready for combat
I say I don't want that
But what if I do?

'Cause cruelty
Wins in the movies
I've got a hundred thrown out speeches
I almost said to you

Then, Taylor use the word as a metaphor to reflect on her pain and heartache on the chorus:

I've been the archer
I've been the prey
Who could ever leave me darling
But who could stay?

I Think He Knows

I Think He Knows is a love song that talks about Swift beginning a potential relationship with her new love interest with the lyrics:

I think he knows
His footprints on the sidewalk
Lead to where I can't stop
Go there every night

His hands around a cold glass
Make me wanna know that
Body like it's mine

Then, Taylor continues on the chorus singing:

He got my heartbeat
Skipping down 16th Avenue
I got that, ah, I mean
Wanna see what's under that attitude like
I want you, bless my soul
And I ain't gotta tell him, I think he knows
I think he knows

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince can be described as both a high school romance or Taylor becoming politically vocal, which is something that Swift has never done before.

The first half of the track starts off with the singer going back into her teenage years with the lyrics,

You know I adore you, I'm crazier for you
Than I was at sixteen, lost in a film scene
Waving homecoming queens, marching band playing

Then, the second half turns into a Taylor's disappointment of politics with her singing:

American glory faded before me

Running through rose thorns, I saw the scoreboard
And ran for my life (Ah)

Paper Rings

Lyrically, Paper Rings is about Taylor declaring her love to her man (possibly Joe Alwyn) and saying that she will stay with him forever.

Swift sings on the chorus with the lyrics,

I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings
Uh huh, that's right
Darling, you're the one I want, and
I hate accidents except when we went from friends to this
Uh huh, that's right
Darling, you're the one I want
In paper rings in picture frames in dirty dreams
Oh, you're the one I want

Cornelia Street

Cornelia Street tells the story on how Taylor rented a place on the London street that played a central part on her relationship.

On the first verse, she sings:

We were in the backseat
Drunk on something stronger than the drinks in the bar
"I rent a place on Cornelia Street"
I say casually in the car

Then, Swift continues on the chorus with the lyrics:

And I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again
That's the kind of heartbreak time could never mend
I'd never walk Cornelia Street again

Death By A Thousand Cuts

Inspired by the Netflix movie Someone Great, Taylor talks about the slow but yet painful death of a possible break up.

She bares her soul on the chorus singing:

Saying goodbye is death by a thousand cuts
Flashbacks waking me up
I get drunk, but it's not enough
'Cause the morning comes and you're not my baby

London Boy

Lyrically, London Boy sounds like an ode to Joe Alwyn as Taylor sings on the chorus:

You know I love a London boy
I enjoy walking Camden Market in the afternoon
He likes my American smile
Like a child when our eyes meet, darling, I fancy you

Soon You'll Get Better (featuring Dixie Chicks)

This twelfth track on Lover might Taylor's most emotional song to date. She dedicates this heartbreaking tune to her mother, Andrea, who was diagnosed with cancer in April 2015 and then re-diagnosed in March 2019.

Swift opens up the first verse with the lyrics:

The buttons of my coat were tangled in my hair
In doctor's-office-lighting, I didn't tell you I was scared
That was the first time we were there

Then, she continues on the chorus singing:

Ooh-ah
Soon, you'll get better
Ooh-ah
Soon, you'll get better
Ooh-ah
You'll get better soon

 False God

False God is where the singer uses heavy religion imagery, like she did in the previous track "Soon You'll Get Better", to describe her current relationship as both all-powerful and greater than themselves.

On the pre-chorus, she sings:

They all warned us about times like this
They say the road gets hard and you get lost
When you're led by blind faith
Blind faith

Then, Taylor unleashes her sensual side with the lyrics:

But we might just get away with it
Religion's in your lips
Even if it's a false god

We'd still worship
We might just get away with it
The altar is my hips

Even if it's a false god
We'd still worship this love

You Need To Calm Down

Lyrically, You Need To Calm Down is about self-expression while also addressing your haters straightforward. She kicks things off on the first verse with:

You are somebody that I don't know
But you're takin' shots at me like it's PatrĂłn
And I'm just like, damn, it's 7 AM

Then, she seemingly talks about her 2016 feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian on the second verse singing:

But I've learned a lesson that stressin' and obsessin' 'bout somebody else is no fun
And snakes and stones never broke my bones

Before continuing on the chorus with the lyrics:

You need to calm down, you're being too loud
And I'm just like oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh (oh)
You need to just stop
Like can you just not step on my gown?
You need to calm down

Afterglow

On the synth-pop song "Afterglow", Swift talks about self-sabotaging a relationship and also overreacting about a misunderstanding with her lover. While taking the blame for the fight, she asks for his forgiveness in order to save their relationship.

She opens up the track with the first four lines singing:

I blew things out of proportion, now you're blue
Put you in jail for something you didn't do
I pinned your hands behind your back, oh
Thought I had reason to attack, but no

Then, Taylor moves on to the chorus with the lyrics:

It's all me in my head
I'm the one who burned us down
But it's not what I meant
Sorry that I hurt you
I don't wanna do, I don't wanna do this to you

 I need to say, hey
It's all me, just don't go
Meet me in the afterglow

ME! (featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco)

ME! is describes as a bubblegum pop song that talks about embracing your own uniqueness. She sings on the pre-chorus:

But one of these things is not like the others
Like a rainbow with all of the colors
Baby doll, when it comes to a lover
I promise that you'll never find another like

And then, Taylor continues on the chorus with the lyrics:

Me-e-e, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
I'm the only one of me
Baby, that's the fun of me
Eeh-eeh-eeh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
You're the only one of you
Baby, that's the fun of you

It's Nice To Have A Friend

In this dream yet eerie ballad, Taylor talks about how two friends meet each other in school and then eventually end up getting married.

She begins on the first verse:

School bell rings, walk me home
Sidewalk chalk covered in snow
Lost my gloves, you give me one
"Wanna hang out?"
Yeah, sounds like fun

Then, it switches over into the start of a potential romance on the second verse with the lyrics:

Sun sinks down, no curfew
Twenty questions, we tell the truth
You've been stressed out lately? Yeah, me too
Something gave you the nerve
To touch my hand

It's nice to have a friend

Daylight

Daylight is the final song on Lover album. The singer finds herself reflecting on past relationships and how she has meet someone who has made her see things in a whole new light.

She sings on the first verse:

My love was as cruel as the cities I lived in
Everyone looked worse in the light
There are so many lines that I've crossed, unforgiven

And then moves on the chorus with:

I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you
I don't wanna think of anything else now that I thought of you
I've been sleepin' so long in a twenty-year dark night
And now I see daylight, I only see daylight
