On September 3, 2013, singer Ariana Grande released her debut studio album titled Yours Truly. Fast forward to five years later. Five years! Can you believe that?! I still can't believe that it's been that long since Ariana released Yours Truly five years ago! Wow! The album spawned three hit singles: The Way featuring Mac Miller, Baby I and Right Here featuring Big Sean. The album was originally going to be titled Daydreamin' , but Grande decided to change the title to Yours Truly because she felt like she was writing a letter. It went on to reach number one on the ITunes Store charts in over fifty countries worldwide in under nineteen minutes. Yours Truly also went on to peak at number one on the Billboard 200 charts selling 138,000 copies in its first week. It made Grande the fifteenth artist ever and the first female to have her first album debut atop of the charts since Kesha in 2010 with her album Animal when it opened at number one. On March 22, 2016, it was certified platinum by the RIAA and had sold 596,000 copies in the US as of April 2018. I was so excited when I bought the physical CD for Ariana's album in November or December of 2013. I loved every song on Yours Truly and I still do to this day. And yes, if you wondering, I still have the CD for Yours Truly. My top 5 favorite songs are Daydreamin', The Way, Right There, Honeymoon Avenue and Better Left Unsaid. Thank you Ariana for sharing your love of music with your fans. Whether you were on The Listening Sessions tour, promoting your songs on every TV station or wearing your hair in a half-up half down hairstyle, you have proven to be the music superstar that you have always wanted to be. I love you and continue to make more beautiful music for the Arianators.
