Ariana Grande Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored review

Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored (stylized in all lowercase) is the third single from Ariana Grande's fifth studio album, Thank U, Next. It was released on February 8, 2019 and dropped the official music video on the same day of her album release. The video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis.

Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored is a trap-pop song that contains a interpolation of 'N Sync's "It Makes Me Ill".

The track is mainly about Ariana meets a boy and is very attracted, only to realize that he has a girlfriend.

On the first verse, she sings,

You got me some type of way (Hmm)
Ain't used to feelin' this way (Mmm-mmm)
I do not know what to say (Yeah, yeah)
But I know I shouldn't think about it
Took one f***in' look at your face (Hmm)
Now I wanna know how you taste (Mmm-mmm)
Usually don't give it away (Yeah, yeah)
But you know I'm out here thinkin' 'bout it

Then, Ariana begins to see the guy's girlfriend before her very eyes with the lyrics,

Then I realize she's right there
And I'm at home like, "Damn, this ain't fair"
Grande tells him that he needs to "breaks up with his girlfriend" so that she can him all to herself on the chorus with,

Break up with your girlfriend
Yeah, yeah, 'cause I'm bored
You can hit in the mornin' (Mornin')
Yeah, yeah, like it's yours
I know it ain't right
But I don't care (Care)
Break up with your girlfriend
Yeah, yeah, 'cause I'm bored

In the music video begins with Grande wearing a long blonde wig arriving in a club. Then, a guy(portrayed by Riverdale actor Charles Melton) catches the singer's eye. She later that he has a girlfriend (portrayed by model Ariel Yasmine) who looks just like Grande herself.

The couple invites Ariana to dance with them, which she accepts. They shared drinks with her at the bar and decides to invite her to their house party the following night, but then the singer finds herself jealous of their romance.

Throughout the video, Grande is chasing after the guy so that he can finally have a relationship without his girlfriend being in the picture, of course.

I don't want to give too much away in the video, but if you watch in until the very end, you will see a major plot twist.

I am not going to tell you what it is. So, you'll just watch the video for yourself to see what happens.

My take on Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored is I love the fact that Ariana is experimenting more with trap music on this song. And the interpolation of "It Makes Me Ill" by 'N Sync in the bridge was right on point. And the music video is to die for.

If you love Ariana Grande, make sure that you and go purchase this single along with the album Thank U, Next on all streaming platforms available:

Tori Kelly Change Your Mind review

Change Your Mind is a song by singer Tori Kelly that was released on January 25, 2019. It serves as the lead single for Kelly's upcoming third studio album.

Change Your Mind is a pop song that talks about meeting a man, falling in love with him, only to have your father and your family disapprove of him.

She opens up the song with the lyrics,

He came to me like a song
Like one I knew all along
And daddy, he got a hold on me
I know you think that it's wrong
But he grew on me like a rose
The sweetest I've ever known
I swear that he got a hold on me
And now I can't let him go

Then, Kelly is pleading for her family to give the love of her life one more chance singing,

No one ever said it was easy
And I love him, you gotta believe me
No, it don't seem right
But I'll change your mind, mind
Trust in me, I'ma need your blessing
Oh, I love him, I'm confessing
If it takes my life, I'ma change your mind

I love Tori Kelly's music. Her album Hiding Place was amazing, but I had never heard sing pop music before until I listened to Change Your Mind on YouTube. The song itself is beautiful and I absolutely like the meaning behind it all. And the cover art for the single is gorgeous as Kelly is seen in her wedding dress holding a flower boutique showing off her wedding ring.

I recommend that you and support Tori's single Change Your Mind on all streaming platforms:

Cait Fairbanks How Could a Lie Feel so True review

How Could a Lie Feel so True is a song by singer Cait Fairbanks that was released on January 11, 2018. The song was written by Fairbanks along with her co-writer RC Cates.

It is a synth-pop song that talks about a girl who is trying to deny her feelings for another woman, but she can't resist the fact that she is in love with her.

She begins on the first verse with,

Saw myself through your eyes
All the world’s it a better place
Can’t believe I had this thoughts
When I saw your face
Not sure If I got it right
I feel so out of place

Then, Cait begins to question their friendship/relationship in the chorus,

Gave my heart and all I have to you
Gave you love, now everything is blue
Now we can’t be friends
So I do, I do
How could, how could a lie
How could a lie feel so true
How could, how could a lie
How could a lie feel so true
How could, how could a lie
How could a lie feel so true

So, this is one of my favorite songs by Cait Fairbanks so far. I love the meaning behind it and the lyrics and the production for the track overall. I rate this song a 10/10.

Fun fact: How Could a Lie Feel so True is nominated for Best Original Song at the 2019 Daytime Emmy Awards

Make sure that you buy, listen or stream How Could a Lie Feel so True on all streaming platforms:

Ariana Grande & Victoria Monet Monopoly review

Monopoly (stylized in all caps) is a song by singers Ariana Grande and Victoria Monet that was released on April 1, 2019 through Republic Records. It was written by Grande, Monet, Charles Anderson, Michael Foster and Tim Suby. The production was handled by Social House and Suby themselves. The music video was filmed on March 30 at the Mohegan Sun in the hours leading up to a concert scheduled that night. The video was directed by Alfredo Flores and Ricky Alvarez.

Monopoly is a trap-pop song that talks about friendship, freedom, protecting your energy and staying right in your bag as described by Grande herself.

The song is also being praised for being a "bisexual anthem" as Monet sings on the pre-chorus,

"I like women and men (Yeah)/Work so f***in' much, need a twinny, twin, twin"

Monet come out as bisexual back in November 2018 via Twitter. But then some Arianators thought that Ariana herself was opening up about her sexuality while singing the lyrics,

"I like women and men"

After the controversy surrounding Grande, she responded on Twitter today saying, "I haven't before and still don't feel the need to now" amidst the rumors of bisexuality.

Either way, I still love Ariana Grande and Victoria Monet no matter what. They also make a reference to the Monopoly game with the lyrics,

"Outta here with that f***ery/Treat my goals like property/ Collect them like Monopoly"

So, overall, I love the theme of the song and the lyrics regarding the Monopoly game and bisexuality. This is the second collaboration between Monet and Grande with the first being "Better Days" way back in 2016. I also like the music video for Monopoly as well. It was original, authentic and very fun, too.

Make sure that you go and support Ariana and Victoria's Monopoly single on all streaming platforms:

2 Years of I Have Autism, Autism Doesn't Have Me

Today is World Autism Awareness Day! And for me, it is also the two year anniversary where I posted my very first article titled I Have Autism, Autism Doesn't Have Me on the blog From Ad-Libs to Zephyrs.

I came up with the idea to share my autism story with all of you on comp735.com because I wanted everyone to know that just because you have autism, doesn't mean that you are less than in life.

I've learned that there are other people with autism including autism who don't let their disability keep them from following their dreams.

You have an autistic chef named Jeremiah who first made his first appearance on The Steve Harvey Show several months ago. You can watch his interview with Steve Harvey down below:

There is also a professor of animal science named Temple Grandin who was one of the first individuals on the autism spectrum to publicly share insights from her personal experiences with autism.

She has since gone on to write several books about autism including her 1996 book Thinking in Pictures: Other Reports from My Life with Autism.

Here's the link to her website:

Sometimes I didn't want to share my experiences with autism on the blog at first because I was afraid that the people on here wouldn't accept me or let alone judge me for who I am. That all changed me for when I was looking on the Episode app to read some new stories that night. When I clicked on the contest winners for the author who had entered this thing called Dream Job. And what caught my eyes was a story by Miss Luna Rose called Dream Job: Silent Voice. It was about a girl named Claire who has autism and can't speak. She is an aspiring writer who is afraid that nobody would hire because she's autistic. Then, she gets an opportunity that she can't refuse. You can read the Wattpad version on Silent Voice right here:

She also has another story titled Thousand Dollar Friend which is about a girl named Tara who is offered a thousand dollars to be friends with a girl named Aurora who has autism.

Here's the link to it:

After reading her stories, it made me feel included in a sense that I am not the only one who has autism. There are also other people who have other disabilities as well. Not just autism, but you have some kids, teens or adults who have Down Syndrome or ADHD.

I consider Luna my inspiration because she is the reason why I want to spread autism awareness everywhere. Whether it's through my writing or my voice, I want to show everyone that I am living proof that I may have autism, but it doesn't define me.

One more thing. I want to say thank you to Comp 735 LLC for giving me a chance to fulfill my dream of writing. I was an honor to have work with From Ad-Libs to Zephyrs. Without them, I don't know where I would be.

And for the fans who have supported me on this journey with When A ThinkBubble Bursts™ since day one, I want to say thank you as well. Can you believe that I have over 25,000 pages views on my blog?! And it's all because of you.

Ginesse "Bedford" review

Bedford is the debut single by singer Ginesse that was released on November 16, 2018. Ginesse is the alter ego that was created by the lovely Cait Fairbanks.

This is the first new taste that you will be getting from Ginesse herself with her new music.
She premiered this song on Nylon.com and talked about the inspiration behind this song.

Here is what she had to say in her interview with Nylon:

"While living in New York, I collected so many moments with this particular person, especially in Brooklyn which inspired the title," Ginesse tells us. "It's about how you can rewrite the movie in your head and forget the reality of why it even ended. The 'it wasn't that bad' stage of grieving. The 'am I actually missing them or am I just lonely?' stage."

Bedford has been described by music critics as a post breakup song with some elements of indie pop music.

Using her beautiful breathy falsetto voice, she begins to talk about the aftermath of her breakup singing,
"I don't like crying in public/ I don't like sitting by strangers/ I know I am so cynical/ You told me that I was cynical"

Then, Ginesse starts to reflect on old memories on the pre-chorus with,

"I've been thinking on that summer when you were my mine/ Kissing, crying, all the high love/Drinking too much wine"

I absolutely love this part on the chorus with the lyrics,

"Have I been alone, been alone for too long?/ Have I been alone, been alone for too long?/ Or is this the way I move on?"

My take on Bedford is that it's a very catchy post breakup song. I love the whole production on this track and how Ginesse's voice flows perfectly with this single.

Ginesse is a force to be reckon and make sure that you stay tuned for when she drops more music.

You can buy, stream or listen to Bedford on all streaming platforms:
