Ariana Grande "No Tears Left to Cry" review

Ariana Grande is back with her brand new song titled No Tears Left to Cry. This track marks Ariana's big return to the music scene after taking a break on May 2017 following the Manchester bombing attack that happened during her Dangerous Woman Tour. It also serves as the lead single for Grande's upcoming fourth studio album. Before it was released, Ariana teased her fans with a photo of her wearing a sweatshirt that says "No Tears Left to Cry". Kim Kardashian, Ariana's best friend Elizabeth Gilles and other people were seen wearing the same sweatshirt.

No Tears Left to Cry is an uplifting anthem with elements of disco pop music. On the intro where Grande sings, "Right now, I'm a state of mind/ I wanna be in like all the time", she is referencing to her relationship with her boyfriend Mac Miller and when Ariana says, "Ain't got no tears left to cry/ So I'm pickin' it up, pickin' it up/ I'm lovin', I'm livin', pickin' it up", there was a time where there were tears in the singer's life. From the passing of her grandfather in 2014 to the trauma she suffered from the Manchester bombing, all of this has had an effect on Ari and it just too much bear. She is tired of crying because she doesn't have enough energy for it. So, she has to take it upon herself to get up, move forward and live her life to the fullest. Along with song, the singer also released a surprise music video just for her fans.

In the music video, Grande is living her entire world upside down. She is seen doing a lot of things like walking on the side of a tower and on top of the ceiling, falling from tower while singing and then sits on the floor while looking at seven versions of Ariana's face. There is also a tribute to Manchester when Ariana throws up a bumblebee in the remembrance of the lives lost. This video will completely mind-blowing.

So, I really love No Tears Left to Cry and I would give it a 5/5. The music video was different from Grande's previous videos. I'm so happy that Ariana is releasing new music again. I can't wait to hear more from her in the coming months ahead.

FKA Twigs "EP1" review

EP1 is debut extended play by English singer FKA Twigs. It was released independently on December 4, 2012. EP1 explores with different genres like indietronica and trip hop.

Click on this link below to watch the "Weak Spot" music video

Weak Spot serves as the opening song on EP1. Twigs starts whispering on the track saying on the first verse, "I heard he's got a weak spot/ He's gonna come/ Gonna come running right/ I heard he's a weak spot for you/ He's gonna come/ Gonna run, coming right back".

On Ache, Twigs talks about how the love that this person is giving to her and she really wants their love singing, "I'll come when you ask me/ Fast train/ Make my eyes blue/ Your love/ Make my night go boom/ That's why I need you", and then she continues on to the chorus with, "I-I-I-I/ Ache-Ache/         For/ You-you-you-you/ Ah-ah-ah-ah".

Breathe is a indie rock song with elements of trip hop. It tells the story about a heartbreaking love lost from twigs' perspective. She sees her man for who he really is in the intro singing, "I don't want to think that I see through you/ When all I see is the reflection of who you are not/ I never asked you to contemplate all the things/ Whispered in secret while sitting with you in the park", and then goes to the pre-chorus with, "I find out who you are/ I lose you in the dark/ Though you're not too far/ You're further to admire". But then twigs has to remind herself to calm down singing, "Just breathe/ Breathe in/ Just breathe/ Breathe in".

Also, check out the "Breathe" music video by clicking on the link below:

Hide is the last song on EP1. Twigs finds herself dealing with a breakup and dealing with feelings of loneliness singing, "Space/ The only thing I ever knew/ Place/ With the time I know I have to choose, now", but then she goes into how her boyfriend was so critical of her and that she rather end the relationship and run than to stay with someone like him saying, "Stay beneath the ground/ Hide away from you/ I sink into crowd/ If it meant that I'd escaped your eye".

My Favorite Superhero: Wonder Woman

For those of you who don't know too much about me, my favorite superhero is Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman is considered as the strongest female superhero in the DC Comics Universe.

It all started when her character first appeared in All Star Comics #8 on October 25, 1941 with the                                                           cover date listed as December 1941.

She is originally from the island of Themyscira and holds the official title of Princess Diana of Themyscira, Daughter of Hippolyta, but in the recent years, DC Comics had changed her background saying that she is the daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta, being jointly raised by her mother and aunts Antiope and Menalippe. She is listed as a demi-goddess and when she is in the outside world away from Themyscira, she adopted a new identity for herself: Diana Prince. Wonder Woman, along with Batman, are the founding members of a superhero team called Justice League.

At first, I didn't know who Wonder Woman was or what she looked like. Until, I                                  went to go see the new Wonder Woman movie with my family on June 14, 2017.

The movie featured actress Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Gadot had previously played the character in the 2016 film called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Even though I didn't watch Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, this was my first time seeing Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

So, I watched the movie. It gave me a chance to learn more about Wonder Woman's back story. From her being Princess Diana of Themyscira to Diana Prince out in the real world, it's was all so exciting for me as a person who wanted to get a glimpse of this strong and powerful female superhero. My favorite parts of the movie were when she transformed into Wonder Woman just by removing her coat and going into the battlefield of World War II while dodging two bullets using her bracelets.

Oh! And let's not forget about this pose with Wonder Woman crossing her arms together.

I loved how Diana was determined to fight for what's right. She is a beautiful, loving and caring person on the inside and out. I thought Gal Gadot did an excellent job of portraying her. I like both Gal Gadot and Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman a lot.

Carter starred in 1975 TV show titled "Wonder Woman". The series ran from 1975 to 1979 and is considered to be Carter's best known role to date.

I had never watched the Wonder Woman TV series before, but if I ever was to buy all three seasons of the show on DVD or look at it on TV, it would really make my day. I'm such a huge fan of this iconic superhero. I mean, this character has been in the DC Comics world for 72 years. Can you believe it?
72 years of Wonder Woman. Now, that's amazing.

Wonder Woman, thank you so much for being an inspiration to me, young girls and all of the other people who look up to you. It has been a huge honor for me as a fan to call you the "Goddess of Love and War". Keep on fighting for justice and peace. You are truly a hero to me. Thank you so much for all that you do.

I hope that you enjoyed this as much as I did. I have never done something like this before.

Tinashe "Joyride" album review

Joyride is the second studio album by singer and songwriter Tinashe. It was released on April 13, 2018.  Fans of the singer have been waiting for her to release Joyride since she first made the announcement about it in late 2015. After suffering numerous delays and setbacks, Joyride has finally seen the light of day.

The album opens up with "Keep Your Eyes on The Road (Intro)". On this track, the singer is preparing her listeners for the ride of their life with Tinashe saying, "There's no turning back now/ Please fasten your seat belts/ Prepare for joyride/ Prepare for joyride/ Prepare for joyride".

Joyride is the title track that originally featured rapper Travis Scott. The singer explained that she almost lost the track to Rihanna for her album Anti. But when Rihanna did not use the track for Anti, Tinashe decided to buy it back and the rest is history. On the first verse, Tinashe sings, "What you lookin' at now, baby?/ Won't you use your own mind, oh/ I've been all alone, right, baby/ Can't do a sober drive, no/ Fall in love in November nights/ Colder weather in the winter time, oh/ Guess you know  when the time is right/ Let's go on a little joyride, oh", and then moves on to the chorus with, "Livin' life, la, la, la/ La, la, la, la, la, la, la,/ Livin' life, la, la, la/ La, la, la, la, la, la, la". She also make a reference to another song called "Vulnerable" from her third mixtape "Black Water" saying in the hook, "Don't stop looking at me".

No Drama is an electro-R&B song with trap music elements and it features Offset from the hip hop group Migos. Tinashe doesn't want anymore drama from anyone singing, "Don't want no drama-ma-a/ We pulled up in that ooh, la, la/ And backed out in that oh my god/ Don't want no drama-ma-a".

Click on the link below to listen to "He Don't Want It"

He Don't Want It is a message to all of the guys who missed out on a girl like Tinashe singing, "Lighting, low/ He don't, he don't want it/ Tell me, go/ He don't want it/ Said I'm a fake lover/ Oh,  you need to just call me/ Private show/ He don't, he don't want it". She also hits a really high note in her register that would remind some people of singer FKA twigs.

Click on the link below to listen to "Ooh La La"

Ooh La La is described as "a sassy song" and it's about the singer telling her lover not to play games with her singing, "I need love, you need yours/ I don't fall hard, I might go ghost/ Ooh, don't forget, lose your chance/ If you play me to the left/ Roll up, gon' catch that flight/ Top floor, we ain't tryna go down". This track also contains a sample from Dilemma by Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland with Tinashe saying in the chorus, "Ooh, la, la, la, la, la, la/ Ooh, la, la, la, la, la, la".

Click on the link below to watch the "Me So Bad" music video

Me So Bad is being described as a "synth heavy" R&B song with an island flavor and it features rappers Ty Dolla $ign and French Montana. Tinashe is sending her man a message singing on the chorus, "You want some me so bad/ You want some me so bad/ Come get this body/ You want some me so bad/ You want some me so bad/ Come get this body now".

Click on the link below to listen to "Ain't Good For Ya"

Ain't Good For Ya (Interlude) is a track that last for one minute and five seconds. Tinashe is talking about how she is nothing but trouble for her man singing, "Got you so good/ Like I said I would/ But it ain't good for ya/ Pass on, b-bout to go dumb/ Get-get you dosed up/ But it ain't good for ya".

Click on the link below to listen to "Stuck With Me"

Stuck With Me is a synth-pop song that features Swedish electronic band Little Dragon. It's lyrically about Tinashe wanting her man to stay with her 'for the weekend' singing, "For the weekend, for the weekend,/ For the weekend, for the weekend (falling for me)/ For the weekend, for the weekend/ 'Cuase he stuck with me, 'cause he stuck with me".

Click on the link below to listen to "Go Easy on Me"

Go Easy on Me (Interlude) is the second and last interlude on Joyride as Tinashe talks about how cruel the world is saying, "The world is sick/ Sick with ignorance/ Sick with bigotry/ Sick with fear/ Sick with hatred/ So please/ Go easy on me, baby".

Click on the link to listen to "Salt"

Salt is being described as 'a mid tempo but yet bluesy song' as the singer not to make things as he has move on with his new lover with her singing, "We were never meant to make it last/ Take my heart and rip it out my chest/ No matter what you think you got to do/ Don't throw salt on the wound".

Faded Love is an R&B song with some elements of dance club music and it features an appearance from Atlanta rapper Future.  Tinashe releases more of her sensual side on the first verse with, "No, don't give your name/ No, I don't need your number saved in the phone/ Just follow me, follow me, follow me/ Follow me home", and then she continues with, "You on that faded love, love/ Luh-uh-luh-luh love/ You on that faded love, love/ You on that faded love, love/ Luh-uh-luh-luh love/ Love". Then Future exchanges his verse with, "Before I give my half-Dominican girl up, I need some real love/You can't go against a king, baby/ You shoulda made me better, what I need/ You shoulda upgraded me already/ I done spent a million on you already/ I done bought diamonds for you already".

Click on this link to listen to "No Contest"

No Contest is where Tinashe is not in any competition with the other girls when it comes to her boo saying, "Why you all on my conscience?/ Swear you don't know what you do/ Got me thinkin' that I'm just/ Maybe, I'm in love with you/ Yeah, I heard all that nonsense/ All them girls be all on you/ But I ain't here for no contest/ When it comes to lovin' you".

Click on that link below to listen to "Fires and Flames"

Fires and Flames serves as the closing song on Joyride. Lyrically, it's about how you can be attracted to someone who is self-destructive and also bad for you. While being aware of this, it's so hard to let this person go. Tinashe get very personal over a piano-driven beat singing, "I can't forget what we've been through now/ I've tried to not let you self-destruct/ I know it wasn't just your fault/ I keep my back against the wall/ I'm scared that you're too powerful/ I've tried to stop gettin' too close", and moves on to the chorus with, "Fires and flames, are in your eyes/ I wish that I didn't burn so much/ Fires and flames, are in your eyes and/ I wish that I could put you out and/ Could you, I hope that you stay the night/ I hope that you stay the night with me".

Overall, I love Joyride. It was totally worth the wait. My favorite songs are: Stuck With Me, Joyride, No Drama, Faded Love, Me So Bad, He Don't Want It and No Contest.

Tinashe "Nightride" review

Nightride is the fifth mixtape by singer and songwriter Tinashe. Nightride was released in November 4, 2016. In addition to that, the singer also released a six minute film of the same name. You can watch that video when you click on the link down below.

On the opening song "Lucid Dreaming", Tinashe is reflecting on how much of a strong and independent woman she has become as a singer-songwriter. On the first verse lyrics, "I been caught up in a moment/ I been moving state to state/ I'm not sure what's heavier/ What's on my mind or on my plate", the singer is talking about a time when she had to move from Lexington, KY to Los Angeles at the age of 8. By her being a multi-talented child, Tinashe was bullied and mocked by her peers.

C'est La Vie, meaning it's life in English, is the second track on Nightride. It's an expression that means to accept or resign in the face of a difficult or unpleasant situation. The singer is pleading with her lover to stay with her singing, "Finally feeling free for the night, I got no worries/ Finally cut a lame out my life, baby, c'est la vie/ I got plenty trees for the flight/ Think I'll stay a while, I'll think a stay a while/ Ah, baby, stay with me."

After going through a breakup on C'est La Vie, Tinashe is having post breakup thoughts.
On Sunburn, she opens up the first verse with, "Sunburn in my eyes, I've been looking up/ Need to come down, it's been fun/ Got sunburn in my eyes, I've been looking up/ Trying to hold on to this feeling", and then she questioning her lover's loyalty to her with, Is this where you run?/ Is this where you left me?/ Is this where you leave me all alone, hmm?/ My tongue has turned to gold/ When I tried to tell you/ I got paper cuts in my teeth now". In the chorus where Tinashe sings, "I'm seeing pink 'cause I've been looking at the brightside/ I ain't letting nobody cloud up all my blue sky", it means she's not going to let anybody upset her when she's happy.

Binaural Test is a 14 second interlude where the singer humming "Mmmmmm" throughout the track.

Click on the link below to listen to "Sacrifices"

Sacrifices is a dark and moody trap song where someone is looking to get in the mood with Tinashe.

Company is an alternative R&B song with synth-pop elements. It's about flirty play of a young woman not being able to commit to someone, but still having a good time. On the hook of the song, Tinashe sings, "I don't need the lovin'/ So don't make this something/ I'm nothing like a girlfriend/ I'm not like someone I'm supposed to be/ And I just need some company, company/ I just need some company. company/ I just need some company, company/ I just need some company, company".

Click on the link below to listen to "Soul Glitch"

Soul Glitch is about Tinashe being with someone who make her grow cold and now their soul constantly glitches. She tells her lover on the chorus, "Couple of miles till the deep blue/ Walking in the snow, filled me up with joy/ Ice in my head cause I'm coldish/ Don't blame me, you the reason why your soul glitch".

You Don't Know Me is a message to all of  Tinashe's haters. The intro in this song is reversed as she sings, "What can I do? What can I do?/ You can catch me in the dark of night getting my whole life/ Underneath the sapphire sky/Your perception of me is so untrue".

Spacetime is described as a "more risky highlife romance song" as Tinashe sings to her lover, "Don't act like you don't know me, yeah/ Think about me when you're lonely/ You're so crazy, how you came to me/ Windows tinted cause we lowkey/ We're so shady, you're forever/ I swear it's never felt like this before/ I swear it's never felt like this before".

High Speed Chase is the second interlude on Nightride and it was produced by Tinashe's brother, King Kachingwe. It serves as a prelude to "Ride of Your Life" as Tinashe sings, "High speed chase like I'm looking for something/ High speed chase like I'm looking for something/ No more time for second guessing, it's pointless/ 3, 4, 5 miles away from your doorway/ High speed chase cause I'm running from something/ I woke up feeling less of a lover".

Ride of Your Life is where Tinashe shows off her multiple use of car metaphors saying, "Oh yeah, we driving fast in the slow lane/ I do them stunts like a movie/ We be on jet's, a Jacuzzi/ We busting off like a UZI/ Yeah, I be on the block with shawty/ Need a re-up, we connect with a homie/ Every time I call it, pull up on me".

Click the link below to listen to "Party Favors"

Party Favors is a solo track by Tinashe that originally featured Young Thug. On this version, Tinashe is showing off her new refrain vocals with her singing, "I brought some to the party for you, oh/ I'll mix it up and serve it for you/ Party favors for you/ Party favors for you".

You Can Stay Here Tonight is the last interlude on the mixtape in where the singer says, "You can stay here tonight".

Touch Pass is dance-pop song where Tinashe delivers her sweet vocals. This track is also similar to "Company" for being a sexy track with a danceable snap beat as she sings on the chorus, Don't ask, just do/ Your hands, want to/ You got a touch pass, come through/ You know my heart, I trust you".

Click on the link below to listen to "Ghetto Boy"

Ghetto Boy is the last song on Night Ride. It runs for five minutes and three seconds as the singer talks about keeping her relationship with her ghetto boy a secret singing, "I was running through the meadows/ Through the meadows with my ghetto boy/ Come and see me in the shadows/ I've been waiting in the corners for you/ Come on, baby, lift your head up/ Look around and see that we're alone/ Don't you think it's time you noticed/ This is everything that's waiting for you".

I love this Night Ride mixtape. I would give this a 10/10. This is one of my favorite albums by her so far. I can't wait to post a review on her second studio album "Joyride" for you guys. I'm so excited.
