Remember that one night
Next to in the ocean
Stars and a blue sky
Swim in slow motion
It was so simple baby
Feelin so simple baby

Then, STEPHAN comes in on his verse singing:

I can tell a lot of your dishonesty

This year has been a lot, baby, honestly

Everything is just so lousy, oh

Now I am coming over just back to get my s**t right

Grown-ish Season 2 review

Warning: the following may contains spoilers from season 2 of Grown-ish. Read at your own discretion.

So, last time that we saw our girl Zoey Johnson was in the season one finale of Grown-ish titled "Back & Forth". In this episode, she had to choose between three guys. Yes, three guys, everyone. And they were Aaron, Luka and Cash. Her gal pals Ana, Nomi and Jazz and Sky all tried to help Zoey in choosing which guy that she wanted to be. But, in the end, Zoey chose to be with Luka.

In the season 2 premiere episode titled "Better", Zoey starts her new relationship with Luka while also trying to make her sophomore year better than her freshman. Like, when she called a "cup b***h" at Aaron's party, dated an athlete star then get her heart broken by one, having her Instagram flooded with haters and so on.

Her, Nomi and Ana move into a less-than-stellar apartment off campus and might learn to adjust to each other as roommates. Then, Zoey is in for a shock when she finds out Luka is back from his trip to Paris and he didn't tell her.

Then, in "Nothing Was The Same", Zoey tries to show her friends that her romance with Luka is special and does all that she can to make sure that their photos are tagged with #relationshipgoals on Instagram.

Relationship goals is a phrase that is commonly used to describe an action by a romantic couple that you want to achieve someday in your own love life.

We also see Zoey getting into some more trouble like breaking the girl code with her friends, cheating on her chemistry test (a big no-no) and getting cut off by her father. But then, we begin to see her maturing and making grown up decisions. Applying for and working at her first job in "Can't Knock The Hustle", taking a step forward by deciding not to pursue with design class in "In My Feelings", creating her own fashion major in "Only Human" and stop compromising with her boyfriend and doing her own thing in "Nice For What".

And let's not forget about Zoey's friends and their new romances as well. Ana starts to get serious with Aaron after sharing their first kiss in "Girls Like You". Then, they "get on" in "Body Count". But sadly, they decide to end things in "Tweakin'" when Aaron breaks it to Ana that he is not ready for a serious relationship.

Sky begins to falling for Zoey's brother Junior (Marcus Scribner) in "You Decide". Jazz and Doug goes from having their love tested to breaking up and then eventually making up afterwards. Nomi is in her first serious relationship with Paige Hewson, a former professor from Cal U who helps her with coming out as bisexual to her Jewish parents. They kiss in episode ten and then break up in episode eighteen.

To me, I feel like this season of Grown-ish is beginning to get more realer than it was in last season. They covered so many topics that had us, including me, talking. Such as, mental health, body image and empowerment, what really makes a person a "genius", cultural appropriation and embracing your sexuality.

Taylor Swift Lover (First Dance Remix) review

Lover (First Dance Remix) is a song by Taylor Swift that was released on November 26, 2019. This is the second remix of the ballad so far. The first one featured new lyrics and vocals from Canadian singer Shawn Mendes.

The track is based off of an arrangement of Swift's 2019 American Music Awards career-spanning medley on November 24th, where she ended it with an orchestra version of "Lover" featuring ballerina dancer Misty Copeland.

The first verse opens up with beautiful violins and a piano in the background as Taylor sings:

We could leave the Christmas lights up 'til January
And this is our place, we make the rules
And there's a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you, dear
Have I known you 20 seconds or 20 years?

Then, Swift continues on the chorus:

Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close?
Forever and ever, ah
Ah, take me out, and take me home
You're my, my, my, my lover

I love this latest remix of Lover by Taylor Swift. The first one with Shawn was good, but the second one, though, is so romantic and perfect for your first dance with that special someone in your life. I would definitely play this version of Lover at my wedding someday in the future.

Chloe x Halle Thinkin' Bout Me review

Thinkin' Bout Me (stylized in all lowercase) is a song by the musical group Chloe x Halle that was released on June 19, 2019 through Parkwood Entertainment. The track was released on the same day along with their other song titled "Who Knew. It was also featured in a season 2, episode 19 of Grown-ish titled "Only Human".

The girls take turns exchanging verses about a guy who is always thinking about his girl, but she has to lay down some rules first when it comes to making a first impression on her.

On the first verse, Chloe sings:

You wrote me and you say I'm all you think about
Look both ways 'fore I cross your mind
Lucky that you caught me in the nick of time
I was on my way out, tryna make a dime

Then, she continues on the pre-chorus with:

Gotta get permission 'fore you say you miss me
Gimme all your patience with the no complaining
I will let you know when you are done with training

Halle wants to make sure that this guy is only thinking about her on the chorus with the lyrics:

Boy, yeah, what I make you think about doing?
What I make you see when you're dreaming?
What I make you think about me?

I love this song by Chloe and Halle Bailey so much. But, I recommend that you listen to "Thinkin' Bout Me" and "Who Knew" together just to get the full effect of both songs in one take.

Chloe x Halle Who Knew review

Who Knew is a song by R&B duo Chloe x Halle that was released on June 19, 2019 through Parkwood Entertainment. The song was featured in a episode of the Freeform series Grown-ish titled "Can't Knock The Hustle".

Who Knew is about falling for someone unexpectedly as Chloe sings on the first verse:

Never thought you'd be somebody that I
Would be staying with on a Saturday night
To be honest I don't think you're my type
Yet, here we are together two different kinds

And then continues on the pre-chorus with:

You would say things
Wouldn't listen, but I listen now
You would call me started falling cause it's different now

Her sister Halle exchanges her verse on the chorus singing:

And we started something by mistake
Who would've thought that I would feel this way?
This way about you
Da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da
This way about you, tell me who would've thought of that
Who knew?

I just love the music that Chloe x Halle keeps on making for the show Grown-ish. These sisters are very talented and I am so happy that they are finally getting the recognition that they deserve.

Selena Gomez Look At Her Now review

Look At Her Now is a song by singer Selena Gomez that was released on October 24, 2019, through Interscope Records. It is the second single from the singer's upcoming third studio album.

Lyrically, Look At Her Now is an upbeat song that is about Selena becoming a stronger person after a rocky relationship. This track is also rumored to be about Gomez's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber as she sings on the first verse:

It was her first real lover
His too till he had another
Oh god when she found out
Trust levels went way down

Then, she continues the pre-chorus with:

Of course she was sad
But now she's glad she dodged a bullet (Mm)
Took a few years to soak up the tears
But look at her now, watch her go

Before going into a very catchy chorus with the lyrics:

Mm-mm-mm, mm-mm-mm, mm-mm
Look at her now, watch her go
Mm-mm-mm, mm-mm-mm, mm-mm
Wow, look at her now

Ariana Grande & Social House "Boyfriend" review

Boyfriend (stylized in all lowercase) is a song by singer Ariana Grande and musical duo Social House that was released on August 2, 2019, through Republic Records. It is the second single from Social House's debut extended play, Everything Changed... (2019).

Boyfriend is an R&B-pop song that talks about enjoying the freedom of not being in a relationship and for those who have a fear of commitment despite wanting to be someone else's girlfriend.

Ariana opens up with the first four lines singing:

I'm a mother***in' train wreck
I don't wanna be too much
But I don't wanna miss your touch
And you don't seem to give a f**k

On the pre-chorus, the singer has eyes on a guy that she really likes even though he is with someone else with the lyrics:

'Cause I know we be so complicated
But we be so smitten, it's crazy
I can't have what I want, but neither can you

Then, Mikey comes in on the second verse with:

Even though you ain't mine, I promise the way we fight
Make me honestly feel like we just in love
'Cause, baby, when push comes to shove
Damn, baby, I'm a train wreck too (Too)
I lose my mind when it comes to you

Ariana continues on the chorus singing:

You ain't my boyfriend (Boyfriend)
And I ain't your girlfriend (Girlfriend)
But you don't want me to see nobody else
And I don't want you to see nobody

Scootie and Ari later exchange verses on the third part of the song with the lyrics:

I wanna kiss you (Yeah), don't wanna miss you (Yeah)
But I can't be with you 'cause I got issues
Yeah, on the surface, seem like it's easy
Careful with words, but it's still hard to read me
